Who We Are
Rogue Valley Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1817 proudly represents the professional firefighters serving Fire District 3. Our members respond to structure fires, medical emergencies, rescues, hazardous incidents, and wildland fires throughout the Rogue Valley with professionalism, integrity, and dedication.

As an affiliate of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), Local 1817 is committed to protecting firefighter safety, strengthening our profession, and ensuring the highest quality emergency response for the communities we serve.

Our mission is to support and advocate for the firefighters of Fire District 3 by promoting:
• Safe and sufficient staffing
• Strong wages and benefits
• Industry-leading training and professional standards
• Health, wellness, and cancer prevention programs
• Modern equipment and safe working conditions
• Fair representation and collective bargaining rights

Who We Represent
Local 1817 represents the highly trained career firefighters of  Fire District 3.

Serving a large and diverse region, our members provide all-hazard emergency response to:
• Urban and rural neighborhoods
• Interstate and major highway corridors

• Commercial and industrial districts
• Wildland–urban interface communities

Commitment to the Community
Beyond emergency response, Local 1817 firefighters are active in the community through:
• Fire prevention and safety education
• Community outreach events
• School visits and public demonstrations
• Charitable fundraising
• IAFF-supported initiatives including the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA)
